German Shepherd Rescue South
German Shepherd Rescue South is a small registered charity who rescue and re-home unwanted, abused and stray German Shepherd Dogs throughout the UK. The rescue is a non-profit organisation and is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, they rely on donations from sponsors and the general public to keep the rescue running. Our aim is to keep dogs in their own home, if possible, until a suitable new home is found or to place a dog in a foster home. They also use private boarding kennels for their dogs in matters of urgency.
All dogs that come into their are fully assessed before they are put up for adoption, this involves an experienced volunteer visiting the dog in his home and assessing the dogs temperament. This allows them to match and place a dog in the correct environment.
They also take dogs from the pounds that are in danger of being euthanised, generally these dogs have to go into private kennels to be assessed before they are placed in foster/permanent homes. .
To adopt one of their dogs a homecheck will be carried out by one of the volunteers and certain criteria must be met, please visit their website and fill in an application form. A list of dogs available for adoption can also be found on their website.
If you think you can help by becoming a volunteer I'm sure they would be happy to hear from you
